At last night’s Press Club of Long Island’s 2026 awards ceremony, The Delphian and Adelphi’s senior adjunct professor Liza Burby had much to celebrate.

Arpan Josan and Joseph D’Andrea were recognized for their editorial leadership when The Delphian received the second place award for Best College Newspaper. James Beamer was awarded second place in the Narrative Features Story category for his article “Championing Neurodiversity and Empowerment Through Adelphi’s Bridges Program.”

Burby was recognized several times. She received first place in the History category for a Newsday article about university archives, including Adelphi University’s. She also won first place in the Lifestyles category and third place in Business and Real Estate, both pieces she wrote for Newsday. Lasty, she won third place in the Non-local News/Features category for a report she wrote for AARP.
