This summer has brought a wave of reflection as my time at Adelphi draws to a close. Navigating your twenties often feels like pushing against an invisible current, a sentiment I think many of us share. With graduation on the horizon, I’ve spent these months trying to find my footing and figure out where I truly belong.
It is a delicate balance trying to stay grounded in the present while the pressure of the future looms large. Between the relentless search for internships, working part-time and trying to cherish every moment with family and friends, the days fly by. While it seems like everyone else is transitioning seamlessly into adulthood, I often feel caught at a standstill. Yet, amidst this senior-year melodrama, collaborating with fellow creatives on personal projects and expanding my portfolio has been an absolute gift, serving as a beautiful reminder of how deeply we rely on connection.

According to the author, assisting others with their personal projects is always fun, but it’s easy to get lost in the pessimism of, “Am I doing enough?”
Seeing other people succeed in places I’ve dreamed of can be disheartening, but there’s a pleasure as well in being surrounded by like-minded individuals. In a way, working on other people’s films, modeling adventures, and social media posts has shown me that I can do even greater things when surrounded by determination. Gone are the days of self-pitying and wallowing, this summer has taught me all of the greatness I can achieve alongside those who support me.
Ultimately, these months have been deeply introspective, leading me to realize that perhaps I will never completely figure out my path. But honestly, I suspect no one else has it completely mapped out either, and that shared uncertainty is exactly what makes the journey worthwhile.
