The Delphian has a new leadership team ready to bring you all the news and features for this academic year.
![]() | Hi everyone! My name is Arpan Josan and I am the editor-in-chief of The Delphian. I am a senior English major, so writing has always been a vital part of my life. I’ve been a part of The Delphian since my freshman year and although much has changed since then, my love for journalism hasn’t. I’ve stayed with The Delphian all this time not only to grow my skills, but to help others as well. Not only did The Delphian help me grow in terms of writing, but it has expanded my circle. I have been able to make meaningful connections with the other editors and writers through the years and it is something that I truly treasure. That’s what I think makes The Delphian so special: you build on your skills while making friends around campus. I’ve gotten to know all kinds of people through writing articles while covering topics that are important to me and to others. Even after I graduate, I hope that others will feel the same as me and find comfort with people who share the same passion as them. |
| Hello, everyone! I’m Gabrielle, or Gabby, and I am The Delphian’s production editor. I handle the layout and design for the print editions of our paper. I am a studio art major concentrating in graphic design, with minors in video game design and art history. When I’m not staring at Adobe InDesign, you can find me at any museum checking out a new exhibition, in the corner of an antique or thrift store looking for fun trinkets or in the front row of a concert singing my heart out! This is a sentimental year for me, as it marks my fourth and final year at The Delphian. Before I joined, I was a nervous freshman, searching for a creative outlet where I could learn something new while also contributing my own skills. I was fortunate to come across The Delphian. With each print issue we produce, there’s no greater satisfaction than being able to look at and hold in my hands something that I had a part in creating. The Delphian has played such a significant role in the growth I’ve experienced over the years. I am now more confident in my skills than ever before, and I have an amazing community to support me. I’m excited to work alongside my fellow editors for another great and inspiring year, and I look forward to continuing to help The Delphian serve as the voice of our students. | ![]() |
![]() | Hi! I’m Manjot Kaur, your sports editor and secretary for this year’s editions of The Delphian! I’m a senior communications major, with a concentration in PR/Journalism. I’m excited to be a part of such an amazing team of creative individuals. I joined The Delphian because of the opportunities it represents for myself as someone who wants to go into journalism. The Delphian allows me to explore the world of our student body in a journalistic way and experience our campus in a new light. The Delphian encourages self-expression, never turning away ideas, which is something I am forever grateful for. I enjoy reading and writing, though I read more fiction than non-fiction. Things like fantasy, romance or even sci-fi interest me more than anything else, even though I write non-fiction. I love going to concerts! There’s something very special about being in a stadium of people that all share their love for the same thing, and it’s something I hope everyone gets to experience one day. My free time is usually filled with me doing arts and crafts, any D.I.Y. projects, painting, sketching or even knitting. I’m excited to work well with everyone. You can usually find me at the U.C. Starbucks tables, so don’t be afraid to stop by and say hi! |
| Hi! My name is Ava Geaniotis. I’m a junior communications major with a concentration in public relations/journalism and a minor in marketing, and I’m also The Delphian’s managing editor and features editor! I’ve always loved to write, but coming into college I wasn’t sure if it was something I’d wanted to pursue professionally – until I joined The Delphian. During the fall semester of my sophomore year I attended my very first meeting, and I immediately felt inspired by the passion of its writers and editors. That semester, through a news writing course I took (and through much trial and error with my pieces for The Delphian), I learned so much about journalism and also about myself. My favorite part of being a member of The Delphian, though, has to be the community we’ve built. I’ve met so many hardworking, unique individuals who compose such a truly uplifting and positive environment. The friends and memories I’ve made here will certainly last a lifetime. I encourage everyone who may not be sure about joining to take the chance and go for it! There’s a place here for everyone. No matter your experience in writing or your interests, your voice deserves to be heard. Outside of The Delphian, I’m also the marketing chair for Adelphi’s chapter of Delta Sigma Pi, a co-ed professional business fraternity. I also enjoy art (especially nail art and acrylic painting) and music (whether it’s listening to it, singing, producing or playing instruments). I also genuinely love chatting with people, so always feel free to reach out if you want to talk about your articles for The Delphian or even any mutual interests we may have. I’m looking forward to a great semester and getting to know all of our incoming writers and hear their voices through their writing! | ![]() |
![]() | I’m Kennedy Nashe, and I’m the Webmaster for The Delphian. I’m an English major hoping to go down the creative writing track. I joined The Delphian because reading and writing are interests I’ll always love, and the mission of the newspaper very easily drew me in to signing up and becoming a member. Having a decent amount of experience writing for my high school’s newspaper, made joining The Delphian feel like it was practically fate. Even though this role is one that takes place behind the scenes more so than on the front lines, being able to uplift another student’s voice is just as important, and I’ll do that to the best of my ability. I’m excited to work with the rest of the editors and bring you an abundance of new and exciting articles throughout the year. |
| Hi, I’m Ciara; I’m The Delphian’s social media coordinator and opinions editor, and I am a second year psychology student here at Adelphi. Writing has always been a safe space for me to express myself. I loved writing short stories and journaling, it kept me grounded when everything around me felt out of my control. Joining The Delphian was my way of fulfilling a childhood dream of mine: to write pieces I’m proud of and be a part of a team. The Delphian has challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and talk to students about topics I believe most have questioned or experienced. When I started filming social media content, I thought it was going to be just a one-time thing, but I actually grew to enjoy it. I love walking up to other students and asking them fun questions that allow me to get to know my fellow Panthers. There is this phrase I heard somewhere on the internet that has stuck with me. It’s simple, really: “To be interesting, you have to be interested.” And I believe what truly keeps me going and ready to pick up that mic or pen is knowing that I’m going to come across intriguing people who have formed ideas I have never thought to consider. The Delphian gives me the amazing opportunity to live out this simple, yet powerful sentence. | ![]() |
![]() | I’m Jazlyn Baptiste and currently a sophomore majoring in graphic design with a business minor. I know it’s cliché, but I joined The Delphian because of its sense of community. I was approached by the club during my freshman year’s Panther Palooza because The Delphian needed more artists. I thought that, as a graphic design major, it would be good to join a club that I could contribute to artistically; however, that isn’t my reason for staying. My reason for staying is because of the friendly and welcoming environment. I’ve watched this small and intimate group grow during my freshman year just as I did. Ever since I attended my first club meeting, this community has given me countless opportunities, from creating posters and helping with the subscription drive to writing articles and creating an opportunity for Adelphi students to submit their art to share with the campus community. My first year with The Delphian has made me become more outgoing due to being forced out of my comfort zone by interviewing and meeting new people. I look forward to what is in store this year for The Delphian. |
